i just mentioned this on the hartley thread, but we'll give adrian his own thread.

it looks like JJ quite likes him and is giving his signing some consideration.

i quite liked the guy and actually said at the time we should keep him on, admittedly i did just say he should be kept on as cheap available cover, he was decent and nothing more than a squad player. this is still my opinion. but in this case that might be the best option.

as much as i'd love to see him return, hartley will be costly on wages. as i said elsewhere that represents a risk with a player of his age. i believe hartlet is still good enough to come back to hearts. but if eggert is to be our first pick in midfield (which, for me, he is! i'd like to see our midfield line up with him in the holding role every week) then hartey wouild be nothing more than a costly back up.

mrowiec is free on loan from kaunas. i thought he played well on a couple of occasions when i saw him last time. but 1 of his best attributes, for me is his flexibility and versatility. i reckon if he signed he could be used as the stop gap that eggert is often utilised as. he played right midfield, up front, right back and i'm sure he could do a shift in the centre of defense if asked. he wouldn't be a first pick in any of these positions, but on the occasions where we have no centre half, like we saw last season, he could fill in to allow eggert to stick to his favoured position instead of being shunted all over the park as he has in recent seasons.

Maybe Kimura can enlighten us on how the Bryson story is going, see he's just posted on the EEN comments on the Mrowiec story that the Bryson deal is still on which may have some bearing on other signings.

out of all the midfielders mentioned, my first priority would be bryson (our top priority has to be a good attacking midfielder.)

if not signing hartley frees up the funds to complete the bryson deal, then i'd happily take bryson and mrowiec.

I'd be happy with that.

Another striker would be nice but we're 32.5mil in debt and we can only do so much.

An attacking midfielder is a must, there is no creativity in our midfield and I hope the signing of Mrowiec isn't just a cheap fix.

Craig Brysons a cracking midfield player, better than Dorman, Murray Davidson and any other nomarks mentioned on KB. I'd take him before an ageing Paul Hartley anyday.

Jefferies is unsure whether midfielder Adrian Mrowiec, who is officially still on trial, will be registered in time for Saturday

"I believe he's on loan from Kaunas but that's still to be sorted out in terms of registration.

"If it comes through in time he'll be available, if not, then we'll be without him."
