Good move for the lad, we loaned Gordon out to Cowdenbeath when he was a complete unknown and it helped him become a better keeper. Ridgers is highly thought of at Hearts and look to him as a possible future Hearts #1.

the loan spell worked out well for mcdonald, unfortunately he's struggled to get a regular game since returning, but no-one could call his loan spell a failure.

it's definately the best move for then lad. with 3 keepers in front of him and no reserve league. it can only be a good move for a very highly rated youngster.

i've watched him a couple times and he is an imposing figure. a big fella for his age and likes to make himself heard, not frightened to talk to his defence. and from what i could see a good keeper.

For Ridgers: Hopefully he'll get regular football there, though a First Division team would have been better for him I think.

i think that was a result of us throwing 5 year contracts at all our youngsters a few years back.
