Nothing more than a chance to stretch the leather on the new boots, so don't read a lot into these games. If this were a cup tie we would have scraped a draw!!!!!
Better to focus on more important issues, such as this one...
We finished sixth last year, so with the addition of Kyle and Barr do we honestly believe that is enough to improve things dramatically?
The answer is NO!
It's my opinion that Dundee Utd. Motherwell and Hibs still look like they are better equiped to stay above us.
Time's running out, but while there's time there's hope.

i read the reactions in the posts below the match report in the hootsman. i think some fans are ready to rip up their season tickets over this one. it's hysterical the over reaction of some punters. one guy said he boo'd the players....pathetic

what was the line up for the match, the hootsman never mentioned who started

McDonald - very dodgy and possibly at fault for the 2nd goal and definately 3rd

C Thomson - didn't do much, but has seriously bulked up since last season
Eggy - left back FFS - fish out of water
Barr- OK
Zaliukas - hmm, some good, some bad and at fault for the 1st goal

Finnish trialist - ok, but no better than we've got
Adrian (polish guy) - ok and missed when he went of at h/t
Stevenson - still doesn't look fit - disappointing
Templeton - v good in first half, but didn't get enough of the ball in the second

Obua - hmm, did nowt of note

Clum - scored, but dire

Subs

Suso (for Obua end of 1st half) - did what he does, beats players then passes to no-one
Black (Adrian at H/T) - poor
McGowan (Thomson at H/T) - looked uncomfortable at RB
Novikovas (trialist about an hour) - needs to eat more and go to the gym, brushed aside too easily
Bouzid (can't remember but caused Zaliukas to move forward to midfield) - no change from last season

I know it was only a PS friendly, but we were sadly lacking in ideas. Real need for a creative midfielder (striker would be nice, but a waste if we can't provide him with chances). Only creativity was wide, which might work when Kyle plays, but nothing came through the middle.

I wasnt at the game but by all accounts I heard we were very poor, it's easy for me to be a bit more positive having not been there but I'm not overly concerned with this defeat, had it been later in pre season or indeed a competitive match than there would be concerns.

Know one likes getting beat especially by lower division opposition but that is our first pre season outing (taking away a kick about in Italy) Dunfermline have played one competitive games and a handful of pre season games already and were bound to be a bit sharper and fitter (in terms of a match situation) That's not an excuse, that's a fact of pre season that even one or two more games can make a difference.

That being said, I heard there seemed to be a lack of eagerness and drive from Hearts and it's disappointing that we didnt seem eager to impress. As Tigger pointed out, we lacked creativity, which is something we already knew, we basically have the same squad from last season and until Kyle plays or we buy others who can influence our play then it's going to be hard to see great improvement IMO. We are where we are and there is a lot of hard work to be done. I'm sure come the start of the Season JJ will have them raring to go.

Exactly, bad result but fortunately for us it means nothing.

Certainly not the end of the world, we'll get a rougher idea of where we are at in the pre-season games against English opposition.

Eggy is never a left back, McGowan never a right back. Thankfully neither are first pick for those positions.
Barr and Zaliclueless need time to "gel".
Black is brutal, Novikovas is GASH, Suso is, at best a sub.
Elliot...Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargghhhhhhhh!
My mate tellss me the trialists were uninspiring, and he hopes JJ punts them.
He reckons our young guys would be better than them.
I remain optimistic that we will bring in new PLAYERS.
JJ knows the score.

Are Wallace, Driver and Palazuelos injured?

I just looked up on the internet. Yes they are but Wallace should be back soon.

Noticed the Finnish trialist got punted back to Helsinki.

Fingers crossed Mrowiec departs aswell.
