On Sunday 18th May The McCrae's Battalion Trust are playing The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh at Tynecastle in aid of the Forth 1 Help a Child Appeal. Kick off is 2pm.

The McCrae's story is well known story amongst Hearts fans, and we are hoping that you will come along to support the day.

Everyone who is playing has paid for the privelage of playing at Tynecastle, and in the case of the McCrae's team, in the same strips as worn by the 16th Royal Scots, who were unbeaten in all competition during the Great War.

All money raised will stay in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, which is significant as this is where most of these brave men came from.

Entry is officially free, however Forth 1 staff will be at the gates, with a suggested donation of £3 for the charity.

There is also a programme available and a snack bar will be open.

We feel this is an excellent opportunity to promote, and remember the McCrae's battalion and all those who never returned.

John Robertson is manager of the McCrae's team, and may pull on the boots again also.

The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh is the worlds Firstt Football Club, haven been formed in 1824.

This is a match which highlights two very significant pieces of Edinburgh football history. No other city on Earth can claim these stories.

Please support the game, and the charity on the day.

We hope to see you there.
